Below please find the official manufacturer's description and technical info for this highly effective parking device. Here though is pretty much everything you need to know:
Yes, you will park like a demon without ever risking as much as a dent to your pride and joy.
Unfortunately though, it does have the side-affect of inadvertantly interfering with (jamming is such a crude word) all other laser systems sharing the same public frequency (including most of the World's Police Forces). Happily, the system is equipped with a warning system and overide switch to turn it off once you realise that this undesirable situation has occured. The Police can then continue about their business and so can you.
Team CBR have extensively tested this system on both cars and bikes throughout Europe on multiple events and ride outs and we are delighted to endorse it as the most effective product of it's kind on the market.
About the Laser Pro Park
The Laser Pro is the only device on the market to use such high quality lasers and lenses giving huge advantages to both reception and coverage. The unit is supplied with a single laser sensor which can be fitted to either the front or the rear of the vehicle, additional laser sensor heads are available which plug in to the same junction box.
The unit uses the licence free 904nm laser frequency. The same frequency as used by several motor manufacturers eg. Nissans adaptive cruise control system which uses laser to determine the distance immediately in front of the vehicle and to deactivate the cruise control if the stopping distance is considered to be too short. Police laser guns use the same 904 nm frequency also.
In order to prevent interference with other laser based systems the Laser Pro Park has been designed to alert the driver of possible interference & if necessary switch the system down.
Should new laser frequencies be allocated by the Home Office then the unit can be upgraded in the field using the USB port in the junction box. We believe the Laser Pro Park will increase your driving pleasure and keep you and your vehicle safe from unnecessary damage for many years to come.

Switching On/off: |
|
ON / OFF switch on the wiring loom |
|
Duration of self diagnostic: |
|
1 sec during every activation (red and green LED light up and speaker sounds) |
|
Indication of functionality: |
|
Blinking of green Bi colour LED every 1 sec or the bleeping of the parking sensor should an object be within 5 metres depending on the reflectivity of the object. |
|
Operation: |
|
Start mode - first few seconds after activation - self diagnostic Search mode - lasts until detection of LIDAR laser beam Alert mode - upon detection of laser signal reflected from own laser sensor or in the unlikely event of other laser based systems using the 904nm frequency in close proximity. Loudness of warning sound: 85dB Wavelength: 904 nm Laser class: Class 1M
Extreme caution: The Laser Sensor emits invisible laser radiation which may be harmful to the human eye. Please take particular caution when fitting the unit. Under no circumstances should you look directly at the device whilst the unit is switched on or connected to a live power supply.
The system must not be relied upon entirely when parking your vehicle as there can be no substitute for good judgment. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for system malfunction and any consequential damage |

Programming
The unit has been designed to enable it to be software upgradeable in the field. The unit can be connected to a laptop to facilitate the interconnection. This is done via a specialised RJ45 cable and connected to the loom port on the unit. Please contact your supplier or visit www.laserprotector.com for more info.
The unit is factory set to alert the user should the laser sensor detect other laser based systems operating on the same 904nm frequency. To prevent interference the unit is designed to switch its self of after 8 seconds and then reboot 60 seconds later. If the user requires perminate protection rather than the factory set 8 seconds, the user needs to switch this function on.
OFF: Unit shuts down after 8 seconds (factory set) ON: Unit has no auto shut down (permanent protection from interference)
To switch between the two options, on power up of the unit keep the mute button pushed in for a count of 23 seconds or green pulses of the bi colour LED. The LED will then flash from green to red 8 times and the piezo speaker will bleep 8 times the unit then restarts itself. Simply reverse the procedure to return it to its original state.
Testing the System
The system performs a self test on power up two beeps followed by flashing red then green LED. Thereafter the unit will pulse green every second to show correct operation. Should the unit fail at any time you will be notified by a continuous audible tone and red LED. The unit can be tested by placing a piece of paper close to the lens and moving it towards the sensor.
Accessories
Additional Laser Sensor head the unit is supplied with one laser sensor but the junction box can accommodate an additional laser sensor. Please contact your supplier should you need an additional sensor fitted. Please check out www.comtechproducts.co.uk for the latest range of accessories or visit www.laserprotector.com
General
Please note the detection distance can vary from 0 5 meters and depends on the reflection properties of the object immediately in front of the vehicle. More reflective eg. bright colours the further the detection distance The system must not be relied upon entirely when parking your vehicle as there can be no substitute for good judgement.
The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for system malfunction and any consequential damage. From time to time clean the front of the lens and check for damage. To prevent possible damage to the eye please avoid looking into the front of the lens.
Installation To ensure optimum performance please ensure the following guidelines are observed.
Ideally fit the Laser Sensor in the front grill of the vehicle, preferably in the centre, with no obstructions to the front (as shown below). The sensor may be positioned a few centimetres back from the front of the grill.
Before fixing in position ensure the cables can be routed safely back to the junction box. Slide the Laser Sensor into the metal Fixing bracket and use the pre drilled crease marks to bend the bracket into position.
Using self tapping screws (as supplied in the fixing kit) secure the Laser sensor to the vehicle ensuring the Laser Sensor is level with the road surface
Feed the cable attached to the Last Sensor thought the engine bay and, taking care not to damage the small connector, through the grommet in to the interior of the vehicle.
Connect the Laser Sensor to either of the two small ports in the junction box ( Marked A and B )
Frequently Asked Questions Does the unit use frequencies which are allowed in the UK?
Yes, the system uses the licence free 904nm and although interference with other equipment cannot be ruled out, in the unlikely event of other laser based systems working in close proximity, the system has been designed to switch itself off. The system can be used for the purpose it was developed and should not be used for other purposes.
Which reflective surfaces provide better detection distances?
The brighter the surface the further the distance the Laser Pro Park will detect up to 3 metres away. Parking in ones own garage for example we recommend you test with different material in front of the vehicle.
Can the Laser Pro Park cause damage to the human eye?
The unit is a Class 1 laser and is therefore low power & safe but we recommend you do not look into the lens of the unit at any time The Junction Box has 2 inputs does it make any difference which port I connect the laser Sensor to and subsequently can I buy an additional sensor for the rear of the vehicle?
Plug in to any of the two ports and yes additional Laser Sensor Heads are available
The lens on the front of the unit has been damaged can it be replaced?
Yes. We suggest you disconnect the Laser Sensor head from the the Junction Box and contact Comtech details below to arrange to have the product returned for repair. Alternatively contact Comtech to purchase a replacement lens and fit this yourself.
How do I test the unit and can it be triggered by a TV remote control?
No a TV remote control will not trigger the system. The unit has been designed to prevent unnecessary false alerts. The system performs a self check on power up two audible beeps followed by flashing green LED.
Place a piece of paper over the lens and this should trigger the device into alert.
The unit has stopped working and doesn't go through the start up procedure, what should I do?
Check the ON / OFF switch has not been switched to OFF. Check the mute button has not been pressed. Locate the Junction box and check the 1A fuse inside the Junction box has not blown.
